Communications Technology Department is located in Paris La Défense, France.
Mission of Communications Technology Department (CTD) is to identify the communication technologies that will be used by NEC in future Platforms and Products and to provide the associated requirements and design specifications.
Work areas include:
- Promotion of NEC advanced technology and IPR.
- Contribution to early standard specifications.
- Identification and evaluation of new technologies, including prototyping when relevant.
- Requirements and Design Specifications for their incorporation in MTBU Platforms and Products.
- Security requirements linked to the considered technologies.
Especially focussing on:
- Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Next Generation Networks (NGN) Handled Devices.
- Emerging communication technologies that can generate new opportunities for NEC.
Main activities in CTD are :
- Standards Tracking (3GPP, ETSI/SCP, GCF, TISPAN, NFC-Forum).
- Long Term Evolution Specifications and Design for Protocol Stack (S3G Project).
- Thin Client Research Studies.
- Application Middleware Specifications and Prototyping (LiMo, Android).
- Application Security Studies.
- Application New Technologies Survey.
- Software Coding Verification Tool (Formal Methods).
