Since the very beginning of third generation mobile communications,
NEC has developed terminals offering the latest features and services.
In Europe, NEC were the first handset manufacturer to launch 3G handsets
for Hutchison's 3 network with the e606 and e808 and continued this
relationship in providing the e616, e313, e228 and the e338. More
recently NEC also was the first company to provide a 3G i-mode handset
in Europe (N600i), and have recently announced the e353 in Europe
as well.
Within Japan NEC is recognized as one of the most successful handset
manufacturers, and, as the 3G markets of Japan and Europe converge,
NEC continues to develop handsets that can now be used around the
world. The N804i and N900iG handsets for Japanese Network Operators
Vodafone KK and DoCoMo respectively show how NEC's presence both
Japan and Europe can help to achieve a truly global product.
